Accommodations in Kathmandu
Shared occupancy 3-star hotel accommodations with breakfast while in Kathmandu in accordance with the itinerary.
Accommodations Along Trek (and Adventure Camp, if applicable to your itinerary)
Shared accommodation in cozy local lodging 'tea houses' along the trek. You will stay in a shared wall tent if your itinerary includes Adventure Camp.
Fully Guided City Tour
The city tour includes a guide, transportation, and all entrance fees.
Fully Guided Experience
Experienced staff will guide your full experience. We are here to take good care of you from sign-up to post-travel reflections. Reach out to us with anything from preparation tips to unique requests. You are part of the Karuna Project family. All lead trekking and rafting guides are certified in wilderness emergency medicine and risk management.
Local Nepali Trekking Team
A local Nepali team will join during the trek. The Nepali team includes guides, porters, and possibly pack animals. There will be one porter per two clients. The local team is hand-selected specifically by Seth, who has excellent local contacts and friends in Nepal.
Three Meals Daily During Trek (and Adventure Camp, if applicable to your itinerary)
Locally prepared Nepalese breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including coffee and tea, will be served while on the trek.
Farewell Dinner
There will be much to celebrate! We will have a celebratory dinner together to reflect and share our joy and successes together.
Exclusions:
International Flights & Nepali Visa
International flight to and from Kathmandu and your Nepali visa.
Additional Tours
Limited free time is built into the itinerary for you to explore and shop. You are responsible for any costs related to activities you choose during this time.
Excess Baggage Charge
Fees will apply beyond limits for international and domestic flights. This also refers to porter carrying limits.
Food in Kathmandu
While in Kathmandu, you are free to independently explore the wide variety of Nepalese food as you like.
Beverages & Snacks
Snacks and beverage options can be purchased in Kathmandu and along the trek at tea houses.
Personal Gear
Take a look at the packing list. If you forget something or an item is inadequate for the trek, many items will be available to purchase in Kathmandu; however, availability may be limited.
Tips
Tips of 10%-20% of the total trip cost are generally offered to our local Nepali team in cash. USD cash in $5, $10, and $20 dollar bills are a good option, or you can get rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu.
Personal Expenses
Personal expenses include but are not limited to telephone bills, wifi bills, shopping, laundry, etc.
All Expenses Due to Unavoidable or Unpredictable Events
Unavoidable events include flight cancellations, travel delays, personal illness or injury, strikes, weather, civil unrest, government influence, removal from the trip for health or behavioral reasons, etc. Such unexpected events are the reason for travel insurance.
Travel Insurance - Compulsory
You are required to purchase travel insurance including evacuations and cancelation coverage.
